51 years ago today, Boston Bruins goaltender Gerry Cheevers started a record that still stands in the NHL today.
The Bruins defeated the Los Angeles Kings 11-2 which started a 32-game unbeaten streak, where he went 24-0-8.
The streak lasted from November 14th, 1971, until March 25th, 1972.
The next closest in NHL history was another Bruins goaltender, Pete Peeters, who had a streak of 31 games, ten years later.
