Longtime goaltender Devan Dubnyk recently announced his retirement from the NHL on October 29th at the age of 36. He spent 12 seasons in the league, appearing in 542 games with the Oilers, Predators, Canadiens, Wild, Sharks and Avalanche.

The Saskatchewan native was drafted 14th overall by the Oilers in 2004 and was in Edmonton through some dark times after making his debut in 2009.

Dubnyk was on a recent episode of ''DFO Rundown'' with Jason Gregor and Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff. He shared how he wasn't particularly a fan of one former first overall by the Oilers.

Gregor: ''Who was the worst teammate you had for high-heaters in practice?''

Dubnyk: ''Oh! Nail Yakupov. This guy was an idiot. A complete idiot. I tried''

Yakupov was selected first overall in 2012 but ended up being one of the biggest draft busts of recent memory. He appeared in 350 NHL games with the Oilers, Blues and Avalanche and recorded 62 goals and 74 assists. He's spent the past six seasons at home in Russia in the KHL.

Clearly, Dubnyk was not a fan of the once highly-touted prospect and shares maybe why it didn't work out for him in the NHL. He just wasn't very smart.

Dubnyk, however, had an impressive NHL career, finishing with a 253-206-54 record, a 2.61 GAA, .914 SV% and 33 shutouts. He won the Bill Masterson Trophy in 2015 and finished third in Vezina voting and fourth in Hart voting that same season.
