Boston Bruins fourth liner Tomas Nosek had himself quite the game Sunday night against the Vancouver Canucks. Not only did he drop the gloves to stand up for Bruins star David Pastrnak, but he also scored his first goal in a long, long time.
Jim Montgomery shared some praise for Nosek post-game:
''These guys don't want to see anybody take advantage of their teammates. That's a great quality.''
Maybe, more importantly, Nosek ended a 65-game goalless drought, scoring his first NHL goal in 315 days. Although it was an empty-netter, it matters not to the team or Nosek, who looked more than relieved after the puck went in.
Sometimes all it takes is any kind of goal to go in to spark something in a player. Hopefully, that's true for the Bruins fourth-line centre.
