On this day, nine years ago, the Boston Bruins traded Tyler Seguin to the Dallas Stars.

The two clubs agreed to a seven-player trade sending 21-year-old Seguin, Rich Peverley and defenseman Ryan Button to the Stars for forward Loui Eriksson and three prospects (Joseph Morrow, Reilly Smith and Matt Fraser).

Since the trade

In 622 games played with Dallas, Seguin has recorded 249 goals and 316 assists for a total of 565 points. He has also appeared in 53 postseason games, collecting 9 goals and 22 assists.

Peverley played just 62 more games in NHL, recording 7 goals and 23 assists. His career was cut short after the then 30-year-old collapsed on the bench during a game against the Columbus Blue Jacket in March of 2014, which was due to an irregular heart beat.

Button never played an NHL game and appeared in just 86 AHL games, amassing 3 goals and 3 assists.

For the Bruins:

Loui Eriksson was solid for the Bruins. He appeared in 224 games over three seasons and collected 62 goals and 85 assists. He left Boston when he signed a six-year, $36 million deal with the Vancouver Canucks on July 1st, 2016.

Riley Smith spent two seasons with the Bruins, appearing in 163 games and amassed 33 goals and 58 assists. On July 1st, 2015, Smith was traded (along with Marc Savard's contract) to the Florida Panthers in exchange for Jimmy Hayes. He is currently with the Vegas Golden Knights.

Joe Morrow appeared in 65 games with the Bruins, collecting 2 goals and 7 assists. He's currently playing for the Kazakhstan-based club Barys Nur-Sultan of the KHL.

Matt Fraser played 38 games with Boston, scoring just 5 goals. He is currently under contract with EC KAC of the ICE Hockey League (ICEHL) in Central Europe.
