Team Czechia has defeated Germany by a score of 4-1 to advance to the semifinals of the IIHF World Championships, where they will face Team Canada for a chance to go to the Gold Medal game.
The Czech Republic's top line of David Pastrnak, David Krejci and Roman Cervenka absolutely dominated the Germans on the day. The trio combined for 3 goals and 5 assists, with Pastrnak collecting 1 goal and 1 assist in the game, including this beauty of a one-timer to open the scoring:
Czechs' fifth-ranked power play was at 27.7% (5-for-18) coming into the game, and it made Team Germany pay on the day, going 3 for 4 on the day.
Team Czechia will now face Team Canada in the semifinals on Saturday.
