Boston Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark and his home country of Sweden have seen their IIHF World Championships come to an end. Sweden played Canada earlier this morning in a quarterfinal matchup to see who would advance to play David Pastrnak and the Czech Republic.

Sweden took a 3-0 lead into the third, which was cut to 3-1 on a Ryan Graves goal just 1:21 into the period. Ullmark and the Swedes still had their two-goal lead with time winding down until Winnipeg Jets forward Pierre-Luc Dubois made it a one-goal game with 1:53 remaining:

And just 30 seconds late, New York Islanders Mathew Barzal tied the game up at 3-3, sending it to overtime:

Toronto Maple Leafs William Nylander took a penalty just 25 seconds into overtime, setting the stage for Ottawa Senators Drake Batherson to win the game on the powerplay in the extra frame:

Even with the loss, Linus Ullmark looked good on a hectic day. The Bruins goaltender stopped 38 shots as Sweden was outshot 42-19 in the game. Having a 3-0 lead going into the third and losing is heartbreaking, but from what it looked like, not much blame can be put on Ullmark.
