Brad Marchand found himself in the spotlight of the NHL's Player Safety Department after an incident against the Seattle Kraken on Thursday night.
Clearly, Marchand's emotions got the better of him late in a back-and-forth contest with the Kraken, and it has ended up costing him. The league announced the following supplementary discipline for the Bruins winger:
Boston's Brad Marchand has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for a dangerous trip on Seattle's Oliver Bjorkstrand. Marchand already holds the NHL record for career suspensions with 8, which has cost him a total of 28 games and over $1.4 million of salary.
