After the Minnesota Wild had to make the difficult decision to buy out Ryan Suter & Zach Parise last year, they were going to feel the cap penalty at some point, and it just so happens its a year after the buy-out happened. Next season, both Suter & Parise will count for $6,371,794 (each) against the Wild cap, and even worse, the following two seasons they count for $7,371,794 (each) against it! So for the next 3 years, the Wild are going to have a real struggle to sign young RFA's like Kevin Fiala who is in the final year of contract that pays him $5,100,000.

The Ottawa Senators on the other hand have lots of cap space to play with and would love the addition to their top 6. Fiala has been a scoring machine in Minnesota and has actually recently expressed he is unhappy with his diminished role with the team. This insider believes a trade is going to happen.

What do you think it will take to land Fiala in Ottawa?
