Defenseman Rasmus Dahlin is finally showing the rest of the NHL why he was selected first overall at the 2018 Entry Draft.
Through his first 277 games, the youngster had a respectable 161 points, but on a struggling Buffalo Sabres team, he has never quite shown that game-breaking ability.
Until this season.
The 22-year-old made NHL history Thursday night when he scored his fourth goal of the season against the Calgary Flames. With that goal last night, he now holds the longest season-opening goal streak by a defenseman in NHL history.
The defenseman now has 4 goals and 1 assist in four games to start the 2022-23 season.
