The Boston Bruins have reportedly shifted their sights from Jakob Chychrun to another defenseman on the NHL trade market.

With Chychrun all but traded to the Los Angeles Kings (maybe), David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period shared that the Bruins are now one of two teams in a bidding war for defenseman Luke Schenn from the Canucks.

''Back in Toronto for a few days after a redeye from LA. As Chychrun Watch continues, another name to keep tabs on, as I just noted on
@TSN690, is Luke Schenn. Lots of talk this morning that things are getting close there. CGY/BOS still in mix, heard TB is out. Price: 3rd RD pick +''

Schenn, 33, has registered three goals, 15 assists and 69 penalty minutes in 52 games with Vancouver this season. The two-time Stanley Cup champion also comes with a very affordable price tag of $850,000 that expires after this year.

A starting offer of a third-round pick for a veteran, physical, depth defenseman would be a good move for Don Sweeney and Co., especially if the Bruins suffer an injury on the back end.
