General Manager Don Sweeney has signed Oskar Steen to a two-year, one-way contract extension with an annual cap hit of $800,000.
The 5'9", 199 lb. Swedish forward was originally selected in the 6th round (165th overall) at the 2016 NHL Entry draft.
The 23-year-old has appeared in 19 games for the Bruins this season, where he has two goals and four assists. Steen has also appeared in 41 games for the Providence Bruins, recording 15 goals and 16 assists for 31 points.
The deal kicks in for next season and ends after the 2023-24 season. Steen should get many opportunities to remain in the Bruins' bottom six, with Curtis Lazar an unrestricted free agent this summer and the uncertainty of Jake DeBrusk and his future with the club.
