According to recent rumours, Bo Horvat rejected the Vancouver Canucks final contract extension offer of eight years, $64 million.

Apparently, Vancouver's first offer was the same as Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and the Oilers' recent extension of eight-years at $5.125 million per season. The Canucks captain is a pending free agent, and Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff shared there's at least one team in the NHL that is willing to give him much more than that.

''I have reason to believe that one team out there at least is willing to pay Bo Horvat a number that starts with a 9.''

Stefen Rosner of NYI Hockey Now reported that Islanders GM Lou Lamoriello has contacted the Canucks about their captain and is allegedly aggressive to get a deal done.

''It looks like Vancouver Canucks captain Bo Horvat will be traded this season, and the New York Islanders are already hitting the ground running on trade talks.''

''While many teams will call Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin regarding Horvat, NYI Hockey Now has learned that the Islanders have already checked in on the 27-year-old.''

Horvat is currently tied for fourth in the league for goals with 21, along with nine assists on the season. The 2013 9th overall pick has recorded 191 goals and 205 assists in 601 career games with the Canucks.
