Dallas Stars goaltender Braden Holtby and his NHL career may be in serious trouble.

NHL insider Frank Seravalli has reported that Holtby may never play again due to an injury.

As per Seravalli on the Daily Faceoff Rundown':

''Braden Holtby, unlikely to play next season. His career may be over.''

The 32-year-old suffered a lower-body injury and had been out of action since March 12th. He was placed, and is currently still, on long term injured reserve.

The Saskatchewan native was the backbone of the Washington Capitals glory days of the late 2000s into the 2010s, that ended with a Stanley Cup championship in 2018.

In 468 games with the Capitals he collected a record of 282-122-46 with .916 SV%, a 2.53 GAA and 35 shutouts.

He spent the past two seasons with the Vancouver Canucks and Dallas Stars, appearing in just 45 games.

Holtby currently sits on 299 career wins in the NHL.
