This summer, it was reported that the Boston Bruins were interested in bringing fan favorite Milan Lucic back for some obvious grit on the third or fourth line. However, the most recent reports around the NHL make it sound like that won't happen.

According to Anthony Di Marco of The Fourth Period, the Calgary Flames are exploring a contract extension for Lucic, who is currently in the fourth season with the team.

According to Di Marco, ''According to a team source, TFP has learned the Flames have been internally discussing and evaluating a contract extension for veteran forward Milan Lucic.''

Di Marco also stated that management hasn't approached the veteran's camp with an offer yet but insists there is mutual interest. It would be a surprise to see the 34-year-old get anything more than a one-year deal.

Looch was originally selected in the second round (50th overall) by the Bruins in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. In 1,103 games with the Bruins, Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers and Flames, he has recorded 226 goals and 342 assists for a total of 568 points.
