While the Boston Bruins continue a pretty successful run to the playoffs, there's some interesting things developing behind the scenes.

It seems that captain Patrice Bergeron is unwilling to commit to the Bruins for an extension.

While it doesn't mean he definitely wants out of Boston, some interesting rumblings are starting.

From Boston Hockey Now:

"Current Boston Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron succeeded Chara as captain of the B's and after two seasons of wearing the C on his jersey, the future hall of famer is still committed to this season and won't sign an extension until the 2021-22 season concludes, leaving the door open that he could become an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career on July 13"

The biggest chatter is that Bergeron's long time agent, Kent Hughes, is now general manager of the Montreal Canadiens.

Hughes received high praise around the league when he landed the job and there's a lot of chatter some of his former clients want to join him in Montreal.

Bergeron being one of them and people believe he would take a leadership role for Nick Suzuki, Jake Evans and Ryan Poehling.

This is a very interesting storyline developing.

From Bergeron himself earlier in the season:

"My whole career I've always had the [contract] extensions and the long-term deals, so I felt like this time I was like, I just want to play this year and see how I feel, see where we're at, see a lot of things"

Do you think Bergeron will test free agency this offseason?
