''The Rangers are engaged in an accelerated effort to trade Nils Lundkvist after being notified that the 22-year-old Swedish defenseman is unlikely to report to camp in the absence of a deal, The Post has been told by multiple sources.''

The 22-year-old defenseman has informed the club he will not report to training camp if he's not traded this summer, citing a logjam at the right-hand defense position with Adam Fox, Jacob Trouba and now Braden Schneider ahead of him.

The Rangers are working with his agent, Claude Lemieux, to find Lundkvist, a trade partner where he will have an opportunity to challenge for a top-four spot and a role as a power-play quarterback.

They are also seeking ''a semblance of equal value'' in return.

The Swedish defenseman was originally selected 28th overall by the Rangers in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. He appeared in 25 games with the club last season and recorded 1 goal and 3 assists.
