Senators forward given match penalty for Intent To Injure

Dylan Gambrell of the Ottawa Senators had quite the season debut against the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight. He scored his first goal of the 2022-23 season in the first period, and around 22 minutes later, he was ejected from the game.
Gambrell caught Lightning defenseman Erik Cernak with an elbow to the head as he was trying to play the puck out of his defensive zone. After a video review, Gambrell was given a match penalty for intent to injury, meaning the play will automatically be reviewed by the NHL Department of Player Safety.
