Serbian swimmer Lazar Dukic tragically drowned during a race
Lazar Dukic was a CrossFit athlete and was involved in a competition where he would vanish under the water close to the finish line.
Dukic, 28-years old was competing in a 800-meter swim at the CrossFit games in Fort Worth's Marine Creek Lake yesterday, he was nearly at the end of the race when he went under the water and never came back up.
There was a search for him that took place immediately, and it took first responders roughly two hours to find his body and pull it from the lake. It was later confirmed by CrossFit Games that Dukic did pass away.
«We are fully cooperating with authorities and doing everything we can to support the family at this time.»
CrossFit Games suspended the rest of the events scheduled and launched an investigation to see what happened with Dukic.
