The Calgary Flames dropped their fifth consecutive game Monday night when they blew a 3-1 lead to the New York Islanders, losing 4-3 in overtime.
However, it was what fans are calling a ''soft'' penalty to defenseman Rasmus Andersson in the extra frame that lead to the Islanders' game-winning goal (see below).
Andersson was given a two-minute minor for interference on the play, and Noah Dobson won the game for his team less than a minute later. Surprisingly, Flames' coach Darryl Sutter was on the referees side:
''I think it's a penalty. You can't drive somebody in there ... I disagreed with the call (in overtime) the other night, but that tonight is a penalty.''
''I'm not criticizing him. It's just, that's a penalty.''
