The Boston Bruins were already uncertain about the future of captain Patrice Bergeron who is on the fence about returning or retiring from the NHL. There is also the uncertainty about former Bruin David Krejci and if he is willing to return to the Bs next season.

The club will now be without Brad Marchand, Charlie McAvoy, Matt Grzelcyk and Mike Reilly until at least November or December and maybe even longer.

Here is a look at the Boston Bruins' cap space and lineup for the summer:

With only just over $3 million in cap space, this is what the Bs lineup could look like to start the 2022-23 season without any trades or signings and the players that will be on the injured reserve:

Hall - Haula - Pastrnak
DeBrusk - Coyle - Smith
Frederic - Nosek - Steen
Foligno - McLaughlin - Wagner

Lindholm - Carlo
Forbort - Clifton
Reilly - Zboril

Notable UFAs: Bergeron, Blidh, Lazar
Notable RFAs: Studnicka

Obviously, fans can expect some signings and movement but this would be the opening night roster as of now.
