Defenseman John Klingberg is probably the second biggest free agent available with Nazem Kadri still on the market.
However, one surprising team from the Eastern Conference has recently jumped out a front runner to sign him:
Red Wings general manager Steve Yzerman has already has a busy offseason.
The NHL legend turned GM has traded for goaltender Ville Husso and has also signed big name free agents in Andrew Copp, David Perron and Ben Chairot.
