With the victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday night, the Boston Bruins rookie goaltender has added his name to the franchise's record books.

Jeremy Swayman made 25 saves in his first career NHL playoff start for a 4-2 win over the visiting Hurricanes in game three, in which the Bruins are now down 2-1 in the best-of-seven series.

Swayman became the first rookie goaltender to start a postseason game for the Boston Bruins since Andrew Raycroft in the 2004 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals against the Montreal Canadiens.

Swayman is Boston's fourth rookie goaltender to make his first career playoff start at home and get a win. He joins Mike Moffat (Game one of the 1982 Division Semifinals), Andrew Raycroft (Game one of the 2004 Conference Quarterfinals) and Tiny Thompson (Game one of the 1929 Semifinals).

Some pretty awesome accomplishments for the 23-year-old, Alaskan-born netminder!

Jeremy Swayman was also mic'd up during a recent matchup where he received the Boston Bruins' "7th Player Award" which is voted on by fans. Watch the video below:
