The Boston Bruins finally won the scoreboard Friday night, but they also made the Carolina Hurricane's lives very difficult. Especially defenseman Brendan Smith, who had one shift that wouldn't end.
First, Bruins' defenseman Connor Clifton lays a bit on Smith in the corner, which knocks him down to the ice. Smith loses his stick and appears shaken up; the referee bumps into him, and then Boston forward Chris Wagner gives him a couple of shots in the face for good measure.
It multiple shifts like these that are going to drive other teams crazy in the playoffs and hopefully wear them down enough to get some wins in the best-of-seven series.
(NHL Player Safety will probably find a reason to punish the Bruins for the incident as well).
