John Tortorella has always been a coach who doesn't care what people think, and in a way, that's what makes him good at what he does.
However, Torts has made a controversial roster move for tonight, as he announced that his top-scorer will be a healthy scratch tonight.
As per Adam Kimelman of NHL.com, Kevin Hayes will be in the press box due to terrible defensive play.
Torts: ''I can't keep looking by things because we're worried about scoring.''
Hayes was benched, along with Travis Konecny, at the beginning of the season for the same reason.
Tortorella is all about discipline and two-way play, while scoring is a secondary though, as Hayes is currently the Flyers leading scorer, with 29 points in 31 games.
It's arguable that benching Hayes is the wrong move, considering several offensive stars in the NHL are liabilities in their own end.
What are your thoughts?
