The Boston Bruins beat the St. Louis Blues by a 3-2 score in overtime on Tuesday night. Jake DeBrusk was the best individual Bruin with a big goal to tie the game 1-1 and an excellent set-up on the overtime winner by Charlie McAvoy.

Although DeBrusk had his best game in a while, his linemates Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron were held pointless. With the powerplay not scoring (again) for the eighth straight game, the Bs needed a line to dominate at five on five.

Bruce Cassidy's newest option as David Pastrnak's replacement, Curtis Lazar, along with Taylor Hall and Erik Haula, was one of Boston's best lines in the game against the Blues.

They didn't let a single shot against in 9:27 of even-strength ice time together. The line scored Boston's second goal of the game, as Hall got the goal and Haula the secondary assist. However, Hall and Haula were still on the ice when the Blues scored their second goal of the game.

It's a good sign that the Bruins' second line can control play even without its best player, Pastrnak.
