This is why hockey is the best sport in the world!

Carey Price has been the goaltender for the Montreal Canadiens since the 2007-08 season. The goalie has been the backbone of the franchise for the past 15 seasons but left the team at the start of the season due to personal reasons. It's been 282 days since Price last played an NHL game, which was game 5 of the 2021 Stanley Cup Final against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Price had off-season knee surgery and opted out of his no-trade clause with Montreal, so he could possibly be drafted by the Seattle Kraken at their expansion draft. After he wasn't selected, Price voluntarily entered himself into NHL/NHLPA player assistance program for what he stated as a problem with substance abuse.

Alex Ovechkin, another longtime superstar, showed a cool example of sportsmanship and the tremendous amount of respect he has for Carey Price:

The two have gone head-to-head many times over the past 15 years, and Price has given up the fourth-most goals-against for an individual goalie against Ovechkin in his career with 24.

It's great for all fans and the hockey world that Carey Price is doing better and is back in the NHL again!
