Brad Marchand will be playing in his 9th postseason with the Boston Bruins, and he won a Stanley Cup in 2011, so I think it's safe to say he knows what and who it takes to make a deep run.

Just like the cliche goes, "Playoffs are a whole new season," and Bruins players and fans hope that's true for their first-round matchup with Carolina Hurricanes, who had the upper hand during the regular season.

Marchand first commented on how well of a structure the Hurricanes team has had in place for a few years now, but that it won't make it any easier to exploit. He also discussed the types of games and players that win playoffs games for you and how a lot of the time, it's somebody you never suspected:

"You never know until you go through it [playoff game] and see the situations that arise. That's the great thing about playoffs is it's a new season, now when you're playing for all the marbles, that's when you see the guys step up that can play at this level and at this pace, and you see guys that drop off that are regular season players. There's different situations that arise all the way through and different ways to manage them. Sometimes you see young guys step up that have never been in playoffs, and they take control of those situations; sometimes, it's veterans ... I think that's why we love it. You never know how it's going to play out."

Marchand has 45 goals and 62 assists for 107 career points in 132 playoff games, so it's safe to say he knows what it takes to win.
