Last night the Boston Bruins handed the Columbus Blue Jackets a 7-2 loss, scoring all seven goals onAll-Star goalie Sergei Bobrovsky.

While Jake DeBrusk stood out and stole the show with his three point night, defenseman Charlie McAvoy was right behind him with a Gordie Howe hat trick.

McAvoy had quite the night which included getting into his first ever NHL fight. The young Bruins defenseman stood up to Blue Jackets forward Pierre-Luc Dubois and he definitely did more than hold his own in the fight. McAvoy got a nice set of punches in on Dubois before landing the eventual takedown.

It was a night to remember for McAvoy who also scored the game winning goal, finished with two points, a +2 rating, four hits and blocked a shot all in 19:41 seconds of ice time.

McAvoy talked about the moment after the game.

"It definitely wasn't even on the list," said McAvoy "I know that I try to play the game with a lot of passion and that's something that [Dubois] was doing too. And stuff like that's going to happen. There's been times along the line this year where something like that might've happened. But tonight it just did, it happened really quick and I feel like I was able to protect myself pretty well."
