Matthew Poitras was the highest pick for the Boston Bruins at the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, selected in the second round (54th overall).
Poitras had a strong Prospects Challenge and impressed during training camp with the Bruins; however, he was one of the 14 first cuts from camp on September 28th.
The 18-year-old reported back to the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and immediately impressed with a hot start. In his first game, Poitras showed how he can control the game at the junior level.
In just his second game of the season, the centre scored a beauty on the powerplay with a perfect toe drag and shot. He has 2 goals and 2 assists in 2 games back in the OHL.
