Even though the Boston Bruins had a tough loss and were eliminated from the 2022 Stanley Cup playoffs, captain Patrice Bergeron was still the class act is always is.

Of course, all the focus has been on Bergeron's future with the Bruins and even his NHL days. The captain spoke to the media after the devastating loss to the Carolina Hurricanes.

Bergy was clearly emotional when discussing the result of game seven:

"Obviously, it's always tough when it ends like that, but it means more to share with [the team] and thanking them for battling together every day basically till [the end]. It stings, and it's not the feeling that you want, but with that being said, we did it together ... it was a hard-fought series, and we came up short."

As all Bs fans know, Bergeron's contract with the team is officially up this summer, but he wasn't ready to discuss his future:

"No, it's too early right now. You know ... not after ... you know, it's too fresh right now. It still stings obviously from a hard-fought series that we came up short ... obviously, I'm going to have to think about it, but I'm not there right now."

Patrice Bergeron was clearly emotional from the loss, but there's definitely an extra heavy weight that comes with this loss, and it's the uncertainty of his future with the Boston Bruins and the NHL.
