During KHL action today, former NHL player Shane Prince was ejected after tripping another player into the boards.
The incident occurred approximately 12 minutes into the first period when Prince tried to close the gap on defenseman Yaroslav Tsulygin, and he fell hard into the boards, hitting his head.
Tsulygin was laying unconscious on the ice before being attended to by medical staff. The defenseman was eventually helped to his feet and loaded onto a stretcher before being carted off the ice.
Prince was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct. However, upon further review, it doesn't appear Prince did much to cause Tsulygin to fall into the boards, but the penalty was issued accordingly.
