Ouch! This is something fans never want to see when watching hockey!
At the start of the third period between the Winnipeg Jets and Washington Capitals Friday night, John Carlson was caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.
A Brenden Dillon slap shot struck the defenseman in the face, and before even hitting the ice, there was a pool of blood.
Here's another angle from the fans' perspective. Let's hope that Carlson is doing okay. That looked terrible!
