Boston Bruins fans (and management) were probably hoping to have a contract extension in place for David Pastrnak by the end of training camp, which unfortunately isn't the case.
This morning, the club held its annual media day prior to the regular season, and management touched base on the Pasta contract negotiations. General manager Don Sweeney noted that there is no timeline on a contract as of now; however, both sides are ''communicating regularly.''
Team President Cam Neely discussed what the pitch to Pastrnak has been, especially beyond this season. He mentioned Charlie McAvoy, Hampus Lindholm, Brad Marchand, Taylor Hall and the duo of Jeremy Swayman and Linus Ullmark as key core pieces moving forward after this season.
''We're not stripping it down here. We're gonna build on it.''
Although it may be a bit worrisome that talks are progressing into the season, Pastrnak himself is not worried at all, as he's stated before. He also talked about the topic as well:
