In a recent article, Kevin Paul Dupont of the Boston Globe proposed a trade scenario in which general manager Don Sweeney could potentially swing a deal to add Patrick Kane to the club.

As per Dupont:

''Could the Boston Bruins be interested in trading for Chicago Blackhawks Patrick Kane at some point? Adding someone like Kane would give the Bruins two dynamic lines. The cost?''

The two main pieces that Dupont suggested as a return are forward Jake Debrusk and defenseman Brandon Carlo. DeBrusk, 25, has only two years remaining on his contract with an AAV of $4 million, while Carlo, also 25, has five more years remaining on his $4.1 million cap hit.

Another part of Dupont's proposal includes a veteran from the Bruins, and for obvious cap reasons, he added forward Craig Smith. Dupont states that this is more intriguing from the Bruins' perspective, but Smith's cap hit of $3 million would help even out the money going both ways.

Dupont also believes that Boston would have to give up one of their top prospects, that being either Jakub Zboril or Jack Studnicka, making the complete trade a four for one.
