Don Sweeney: A signing is in the works following recent reports

There are bound to be holes in the lineup in the future, as it's been rumored Jake DeBrusk has drawn interest from the Kraken. DeBrusk's future is uncertain, so Sweeney may have to find help elsewhere.

The Bruins could sign someone like Anthony Duclair, who is a UFA this season and a top-six fixture on many teams he's played with throughout his career.

During the 2023-2024 NHL season, he scored 42 points( 24 G, 18 A) in 73 games, with 15:46 ATOI. He also had 35 blocks and 49 hits.

His last contract was signed in 2021-202 with the Florida Panthers, at 3 X $3 Million AAV.

This season was the closest to the first full season he played since 2022-2023 where Duclair only found himself in the lineup in 20 games, due to an injury.

Duclair has shown glimpses of brilliance in the past, as a career-high 58-point year was in 2021-2022 with the Panthers, a 31-goal year, under Andrew Brunette.

The Bruins can likely sign Duclair at an affordable 3 X $4.32 Million as Evolving Hockey projects his next deal could be.

Duclair was a key player in Florida's gear-up to the well-oiled machine they are now and contributed during the teams Stanley Cup finals appearance.

Duclair is no stranger to post-season play during the Cup run, the winger had 11 points( 4 G, 7 A ) in 20 games with the Panthers in 2022-2023.
