During this year's draft, the Blackhawks made a trade with the Boston Bruins that included Taylor Hall and Nick Foligno traded to Chicago and prospects Alec Regula and Ian Mitchell sent over to Boston. A brutal trade and camp dump for the Bruins.
Shortly after the trade, he signed a one-year, $4 million deal with the Chicago. This is what he had to say to the media today:
Nick knows he's been brought in for one thing, and that is to teach the young players and shape the future, and Blackhawks fans must be happy he's going to fill that role.
Foligno is 35 years old and is nearing the end of his career. Last season with Boston, he had 10 goals and 16 assists, tallying up to 26 points in 60 games. It is a shame that he's going to be on a bad team for this season and not on a competitive one like Boston.
