Linus Ullmarks landing destination has officially been revealed
A front runner to land Boston Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark has been revealed following multiple reports today.
After the flurry of trades that happened yesterday, two destinations have been scratched off the list of teams that will be interested in landing Ullmark, being the New Jersey Devils and the L.A. Kings.
Both teams completed trades yesterday to boost their goaltending heading into next year, with the Devils acquiring Jacob Markstrom and the Kings acquiring Darcy Kuemper.
With Jermey Swayman set to take over the net for the Boston Bruins, they will have to do something with Linus Ullmark, and all signs are pointing to him being traded during the off-season.
A front runner has emerged for Linus Ullmark, according to The Ottawa Citizen's Bruce Garrioch, the Senators are seriously interested in acquiring Ullmark after a very poor season from Joonas Korpisalo.
"While league sources told Postmedia earlier in the day the Senators had already had stepped up their efforts to acquire goaltender Linus Ullmark from the Boston Bruins, Ottawa may be the last serious team in the mix," he wrote in a piece published earlier today.
Garrioch later wrote: "League sources say the Senators have circled back to the Bruins to see if there's a fit to acquire Ullmark to steady the club's struggling net and those talks have intensified." He also noted that Senators president of hockey operations and general manager Steve Staios "has been making a hard push to try to acquire Ullmark."
Will the New Jersey Devils officially setting the table of a return for the Bruins, it seems more and more likely that a trade will be finalized sooner rather than later.
