There were rumors swirling that the former Tampa Bay Lightning Captain, Steven Stamkos would be signing with the Boston Bruins.

But in the long run, serving 16 seasons with Tampa Bay, with 10 of them as team Captain, Stammer made a bold move.

After he and GM Julien Brisebois couldn't come to terms he would sign with the Nashville Predators, for four years, $8 M AAV.

FOUR YEARS, $8M AAV FOR STAMMER TIME

At 34 years old, one would think his production would decline, but even last season he put up 81 points( 40 G, 41 A) with the Lightning.

There were serious rumors linking him to Boston, while there was speculation he'd re-sign in Tampa Bay, of which neither turned out to be true:

Stamkos said he tried to make things work so he could stay with the Lightning, but "it didn't work out."

"It's not for a lack of effort on my side (to try) to make things work out in Tampa, but it's not fair to Nashville for me to sit here and say I really wanted to be in Tampa," Stamkos told TSN. "Everyone knows I did. It didn't work out, and I'm just as thrilled to be joining the Nashville Predators for a multitude of reasons. You can see by how aggressive they've been today that their commitment to winning is second to none." - Stamkos
