The Boston Bruins have hit a stalemate with their #1 goalie, Jeremy Swayman. While he is their top priority, the Bruins will have to consider another Bruin soon.

That player is Captain Brad Marchand, as he is due a contract extension come 2024-2025.

Despite his age at 36, Marchand's motor doesn't quit, as Captain and playing a full 82 games season for the Bruins. He would score 67 points(29 G, 38 A) in that frame and should be the Bruin's next priority after Sway is taken care of.

Yeah, we're going to get to Brad. He's learning patience as a captain as well. So, he has to learn there's some ducks in a row in terms of adding to our group and how he wants to add to that, and those guys that don't have contracts up ahead. Eventually, he'll extend here.

"He'll be a lifelong Bruin. That's what we should do. But we'll check that box."

Given how chaotic the Swayman deal has gone, do you have much confidence in the Bruins to secure Marchand in the long term? Does the Captain have Buddha-like patience to wait for Sweeney? I doubt it.

Marchand's latest contract was an 8-year, $49 Million dollar deal, with a $6.1 Million AAV.
