A case for Fabian Lysell to be called up to the Boston Bruins was just made and it's moving
A case for the Boston Bruins to call up Fabian Lysell has just been made.
Fabian Lysell was given every opportunity to make the Boston Bruins roster out of camp, but ultimately the Boston Bruins sent him to Providence to start the season. Many fans thought Fabian Lysell would be the perfect fit to take Jake DeBrusk's spot on the second-line, but the Bruins did not like what they saw, but now he is building a strong case to be called up.
During the Providence Bruins game today Fabian Lysell demonstrated some good puck movement, something the Bruins were looking for out of him in camp, and it created multiple scoring opportunities for the Providence Bruins.
Fabian Lysell, No. 22 in white, tours the attacking zone, protects the puck, moves it along and eventually passes to Oesterle for his second point of the weekend. Great playmaking by Lysell here. #NHLBruins
During their last game Lysell ended up scoring his first goal, and it was nothing short of beautiful. Lysell took the puck in himself against two defenders, and made a nasty move to the middle of the ice before sniping it for his first of the year.
Good morning to Fabian Lysell, and Fabian Lysell only.
He has been doing things great to start the season so far, although the points aren't there, Lysell has been showing great progress in the areas the Bruins wanted to see improvement.
He is building himself a strong case to get called up to the Bruins roster, especially since how big of a let down Morgan Geekie has been so far to start this season. Geekie originally started out in Jake DeBursk's spot, but has since been demoted to the third-line.
Lysell could capitalize on this if he gets called up, and completely take Morgan Geekie's roster spot from him.
