Benched: Recent Reports Reveal The Bruins Are Set To Bench This Player For A Period Of Time As On-Ice Struggle

Trent Frederic is currently playing in his final year of his contract with the Boston Bruins, and normally players have a career year on contract years, but that has not been the case for Frederic this year.

The struggle has been real for Trent Frederic this year, and a recent report has revealed that things may get worse for him.

Boston Bruins insider Jimmy Murphy is calling for the Bruins and head coach Joe Sacco to bench Trent Frederic over his recent play this year.

The Bruins have been struggling to find a solid third line, and have placed Frederic at center after Charlie Coyle got bumped up to the Bruins top line. Frederic isn't a center, he can fill the void for a period of time but he plays a lot better on the wing.

Frederic has not registered a point in his past 10 games, and only has 5 goals, and 6 assists for 11 points on the year.

He has also been heavily involved in trade rumours this year, and many believe that he is going to be traded by the Boston Bruins closer to the trade deadline, especially if the two sides are not close on a contract extension.
