The Boston Bruins need offensive help, and while the team could look for a typical superstar to bolster the top six, there are other options. One of them is current Anaheim Ducks, and former Bruin forwardFrank Vatrano.

Frank Vatrano's time in Anaheim has been nothing typical for the forward, as last season he secured an All-Star game nod.

His ability to finish in Anaheim should be noted, as the last three seasons saw him post 42 points(2021-2022), and 41 points(2022-2023) consecutively.

In 2023-2024 had a career year with the rebuilding franchise scoring 60 points( 37 G, 23 A).

His finishing ability and skillful play could be what the Bruins need, and they could get him at a discount instead of hunting for top-six center Trevor Zegras.

During the 2022 Stanley Cup playoffs, Vatrano played in 20 games for the Rangers. He scored 5 goals and added 8 assists while putting 41 shots on goal. His 12.2 shooting percentage during that run is an indication that he can put the puck in the net in the most important games.

He's a solid producer and has experience in the playoffs, which would be a huge help for the Bruins, who erstwhile have turned it around recently--still need help.

ClutchPoints cover this idea with great note, as David Pastrnak ages, and so does Brad Marchand their production could suffer a steep decline and the Bruins could add Vatrano as a good stopgap for the future.

The Bruins appear to have steadied themselves after a halting start this season that saw them fire head coach Jim Montgomery in mid-November. The Bruins have a pair of superstars in David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand along with a top defenseman in Charlie McAvoy. However, Pastrnak is not putting the puck in the net at his usual rate and Marchand is an older player at age 36.

Vatrano is in year three of his contract, has a cap hit of $3.65 Million AAV, and could fit under the Bruins cap structure easily.

But one could suspect with the Ducks in the process of the rebuild he won't come back to Boston easily, given his recent uptick in production.

He could be an expensive rental, or if GM Don Sweeney plays his cards right should be extended as soon as possible.
