With the Washington Capitals honouring Alexander Ovechkin for becoming the second highest goal scorer in NHL history, Patrice Bergeron lent a helping hand.
The Bruins captain was one of several active players that left personal messages for The Great 8's huge accomplishment.
From One Legend to Another
Among others like Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, Auston Matthews and Patrick Kane, Bergeron shared a heartfelt message for the Capitals captain:
Ovechkin is being celebrated for passing Gordie Howe for sole possession of second place behind Wayne Gretzky on the all time goals list. The 37-year-old has registered 819 career goals, trailing Gretzky by just 75.
