It's been reported by Michael DelRosa of The Hockey News that the Bruins may have interest in trading for Islanders forward Oliver Wahlstrom.

Wahlstrom, who signed a one-year extension worth $1 million with the Islanders may be ready for a change of scenery as the Islanders are set to incorporate numerous younger players who may push him out of the lineup. It's been mentioned that he has been scratched several times throughout last season including the entire playoff run. It gives the conclusion that he may want to go elsewhere.

Given his low salary, the Bruins could certainly accommodate any trade that they could do or even a waiver wire pick up. The former prospect is just 24 years old and still has plenty of upside where he can find his game if he's in the right environment.

During the 2022-2023 season, he had seven goals with 16 points through 35 games. The Bruins are always looking for depth and with some of their bottom 6 not as deep as it used to be, adding a player like Wahlstrom could certainly help their cause.

The Bruins have gone through several changes over the course of the offseason Including adding Elias Lindholm, Nikita Zadorov, Joonas Korpisalo and Mark Kastelic. Fabian Lysell Georgii Merkulov and Trevor Kuntar will all attempt to push for jobs especially in the bottom 6 but it's certainly set in stone that these players will make it.

Wahlstrom will certainly be a player to keep an eye on.
