Yesterday the Boston Bruins made the announcement that they have placed defenseman Alec Regula on waivers which was confirmed by NHL insider Elliotte Friedman.
Today Elliotte Friedman has revealed that the Boston Bruins have lost Alec Regula, and that the Edmonton Oilers have claimed him off of waivers from the Boston Bruins.
Here is what Friedman said:
Alec Regula was just returning to the ice from an injury for the Bruins and had to be placed on waivers and clear them for the Bruins to send him down to the American Hockey League with the Providence Bruins.
Instead, Regula did not clear waivers and the Edmonton Oilers ended up acquiring Regula for free.
Regula was apart of the return the Boston Bruins got when they traded Taylor Hall and Nick Foligno to the Chicago Blackhawks in the off-season of the 2022-23 season.
Alec Regula never got the opportunity to play in the NHL with the Boston Bruins which is unfortunate for the 6-foot-4, 211 LBS defenseman, but now he may have an opportunity to play in the NHL with the Oilers.
Best of luck to Alec Regula with the Oilers!
