Boston Bruins defenseman spoke to the media today about his gruesome injury he suffered in their last game that caused him to leave the game.

The Boston Bruins were taking on the New York Rangers, when another defenseman suffered an upper-body injury and forced him to leave the game.

In the second period, a puck got deflected and hit defenseman Michael Callahan in the face causing him to leave the game and not return due to an upper-body injury.

UPDATE: Michael Callahan (upper-body) will not return to today's game.

Injuries for the Boston Bruins have been a big problem. They are still missing defenseman Hampus Lindholm, and forward Mark Kastelic, and it's unclear whether or not Callahan will be good to go for the Bruins next game.

Today following practice, Callahan spoke to the media about his injury that caused him to leave the game against the New York Rangers and not return.

Callahan stated that he lost a couple of teeth and had to get some stitches on his lip. He also stated that he is going to have to get some more work done on his month and will probably do that during the break that's coming up.

Michael Callahan on taking a puck to the mouth on Saturday: "Lost a couple teeth and some stitches on the lip. But other than that, not too bad...have to go back and get more work done probably next week during break."

Callahan has been solid for the Boston Bruins since they have been dealing with a lot of injuries this season especially on the blue line.

Since being recalled from the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League, Callahan has only played in five games for the Bruins and has 0 points while being just a minus-1.
