Bruins fans along with many others across the NHL are not happy with the new preseason schedule that has been released by the NHL.

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman along with his team seemed to be convinced that NHL hockey needs to be saturated for the next eight to nine months with 106 preseason games scheduled between September 21st and October 5th.

In seasons past, given there are more games it was done over a shorter period which would allow the season to begin in the first week of October. This season it will begin in the second week of October as other teams are heading overseas to play a few preseason games in Europe.

It seems excessive with 106 games slated over a 15 day. Especially on two continents. The Bruins preseason schedule will begin on September 22nd against the New York Rangers in Boston and the team will face the Rangers twice, the Flyers twice, the capitals twice and the Los Angeles Kings on October 3rd in Quebec City at the Videotron centre.

The only positive is that the Bruins will be on a short travel as they will be confined to the northeastern part of the United States and Canada.
But with this schedule, it appears the NHL will be seen the Stanley Cup risen again in late June.
