On Wednesday teams finalized their rosters for the upcoming Four Nations Face-Off tournament which is set to take place in both Boston and Montreal, and some how Bruins goaltender was not apart of team Finland's final roster.
Joonas Korpisalo struggled with the Ottawa Senators during the 2023-24 season, and was traded to the Boston Bruins in the Linus Ullmark trade and has had a bounce back season so far.
Korpisalo has even outplayed his partner in Jeremy Swayman this season, and in 10 appearances this year this season Korpisalo has a 6-2-1 record with a .909 save percentage and a 2.39 goals against average.
Korpisalo definitely earned a spot on team Finland's roster, but instead the team decided to go with Juuse Saros which is a no doubter as he is probably one of the best Finland goaltenders, but the other two options are definitely controversial.
The other two goaltenders are Buffalo Sabres goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, and Vancouver Canucks goaltender Kevin Lankinen.
The numbers speak for themselves as Luukkonen has a 8-6-2 record with a 2.70 goals against average, and a .906 save percentage. Whereas Lankinen has a 12-3-3 record with a 2.66 goals against average, and a .906 save percentage.
It's safe to say that Joonas Korpisalo was definitely robbed of a spot on team Finlands roster. Korpisalo has a better save percentage than both Lankinen and Luukkonen, and also have a better goals against average than all three goaltenders that made team Finland's roster.
