Boston Bruins officially cut a player from the organization

Kasimir Kaskisuo is a Finnish goalie who was signed to a PTO by the Boston Bruins for the 2024-2025 season.

Kaskisuo is a YouTuber who documents his life, as a professional hockey goalie and has given us a look inside his life, from his time in the NHL to minor league hockey and his life playing overseas.

The 30-year-old goalie, went unsigned in the NHL last season and would instead play two seasons in Sweden before getting the shot at a PTO with the Bruins in the NHL.

He'd work diligently, move to Burnsville, Minnesota, pay $15 twice a week to a local rink, and work with SPHL players to stay in shape.

"Going back and skating at that same rink this summer was giving me PTSD," Kaskisuo said as per Athletic. "Just from remembering those December mornings, going there and not really knowing what was going to happen."

He'd turn down offers from European clubs to work on getting himself another shot in the NHL.

Between the 2019-2020, and 2020-2021 seasons, he'd only see 2 games total between the time with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and Nashville Predators.

His hard work would pay off after a significant amount of time spent unemployed, as he'd earn a PTO with the Laval Rocket in the AHL. He's had his YouTube channel help keep money coming in the meantime, and since 2017 has grown to a huge viewership of 64K subscribers.

Kaskisuo would land a PTO with the Boston Bruins nearly 9 months after the PTO in Laval, on September 18th.

"I know there's a lot going on," Kaskisuo said, alluding to Swayman's contract negotiations."

"There are five other goalies here too. Everyone's situation is different. I can't start worrying about them. I just need to focus on doing my job. I get that any day could be my last here, and I'm embracing this opportunity.

He remained humble prior to the start of training camp, and despite not making the Bruins team. It seems he will get a chance to make the NHL one day as he is being sent down to the P-Bruins training camp, in hopes of making the AHL squad.

Hopefully, Kaskisuo won't have to rely upon just YouTube income after his trip to Providence and make his dream of being a professional hockey league goalie come true.

In 2023-2024 with the Laval Rocket, Kaskisuo started 13 games, with a 7-4 record, a 2.90 GAA, and a .909 save percentage.
