The Bruins felt like they became a better team after making some big moves, but that has been proven other wise. The team has taken a big step back from last year, and it shows.
The Boston Bruins have been competitive for awhile, and it may be finally catching up to them this year.
The Bruins in the off-season decided it was best to part ways with Jake DeBrusk, and find someone in their system that could replace him, but they have not been able to do so.
They also brought in Nikita Zadorov, and Elias Lindholm in the off-season. Many believed that Lindholm was going to be their replacement for Patrice Bergeron, but you just can't replace him and it goes to show.
Zadorov was brought in for size and grit, after getting bounced by the Florida Panthers two years in a row in the playoffs, the Bruins believed they needed to get bigger and become a more gritty team.
Yesterday at the Boston Bruins gala, the ownership group leaked the direction they are going to go at the NHL trade deadline.
Cam Neely stated that the Bruins are preparing to go two different routes at the deadline, they are going to either sell, or buy, but Neely stated that they will not be going "all-in" at this year's trade deadline.
Not committed to going all-in at the deadline
This is an interesting situation for Bruins fans, if they are not in a playoff picture by the trade deadline, the Bruins are going to be sellers, something they haven't been in a longtime.
